How councils are using their pension funds to build homes - Inside Housing

Lord Kerslake and Natalie Elphicke were both quoted in an article for Inside Housing about council pension funds.

Lord Kerslake argued that the lack of government subsidies, rather than potential pension finance, is holding back affordable housing schemes.

Whereas Natalie claimed changes to pension fund investment models have taken longer to come through, which is partly a reflection of the availability of other types of finance. With a lack of suitable investments as funds prefer investing in existing rental stock rather than taking on the risks of building projects.
