HBR Springboard - Delivering the Homes your Area Needs

This, the second HBR Springboard session, revolved around what needs to happen to get the job done.

Speaking at the session was Neill Tickle (Optivo), Paul Price (Tendring District Council), Jenny Coombs (Local Partnerships) and Rob Beiley (Trowers & Hamlins).

Local Partnerships discussed their Housing Toolkit and how it can assist the delivery of more homes, faster. Optivo gave an illuminating presentation on precisely what they want to see from councils when developing or managing social housing in their area. And Trowers & Hamlins spoke to delegates about structures and legal considerations for partnerships and joint ventures.

It was also a pleasure to hear from Paul Price, of Tendring District Council, who spoke to delegates from the perspective of a local authority. Paul held a session on how to turn an idea into reality, due to his significant experience in this area. Since 2014, Paul has led the complex renewal process for Jaywick Sands, currently the most deprived community in England.

The final HBR Springboard session will be held in March, where councils will compete for resource support from a range of organisations. Our experienced judges will be representing Homes England, Savills, Cheyne Capital and the HFi in judging the HBR Springboard councils.
