The Housing & Finance Institute

The Housing & Finance Institute is an independent organisation created to provide expertise and to work with industry and the public sector to deliver a step-change in housebuilding, housing delivery, asset management and finance. Its purpose is to increase housing supply across all tenures by creating opportunities for councils and businesses, ensuring they work together to build more homes.

The HFi was established in 2015 after the UK Government's Elphicke-House Report recommended its creation. The UK Government accepted the recommendation, and the Chancellor of the Exchequer announced its formation in the 2015 Budget.
