Yesterday was the final session of the HBR Springboard programme. This session gave councils the opportunity to pitch a real development in their area in a 'Dragon's Den' style competition, sponsored by Cheyne Social Property Impact Fund.
Councils had the opportunity to present and get tips from experts in their field, from investors, Government and others. Together with an opportunity to attract and secure dedicated resource support from a range of partners.
The Springboard judges were Natalie Elphicke and Sir Steve Bullock from the HFi, Gareth Blacker (Homes England) Darren Carter (Cheyne Capital) and Steve Partridge (Savills).
We heard well-prepared and effective presentations from all 8 councils: Broadland; South Norfolk; Newark & Sherwood; Welwyn Hatfield; Wokingham; Rotherham; Mid Suffolk; and Stoke-on-Trent. It was a stunning example of local authority excellence around housing ambition.
The judges decided to offer some next steps support to every council who pitched for assistance.
